Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Prototype Technology Ltd. (“Prototype,” “we,” “us”) handles personal information when you visit prototypedevshop.ca, contact us, book a call, or opt in to receive communications. We handle personal information in accordance with Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) where applicable, Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), and Quebec’s Law 25 where applicable.
Who we are
Prototype Technology Ltd. is a Canadian company operating from Alberta, Canada. For any privacy question or request, contact us at info@prototypedevshop.com. This inbox also serves as our designated contact for privacy matters, including requests under Quebec Law 25.
What we collect
We collect only what we need to respond to you and run our business:
- Inquiry details you submit through our contact form: name, email address, company or project name, role, a description of what you are building, your primary interest, your stage, target timeline, and how you heard about us.
- Booking details if you schedule a call through our calendar provider (your name, email, and selected time).
- Marketing consent — whether you opted in to receive marketing emails.
- Aggregate, non-identifying analytics about how the site is used (see Analytics below).
Why we collect it and how we use it
- To respond to your inquiry and assess whether there is a fit.
- To schedule and prepare for a strategy or fit call.
- To send marketing emails about our services — only if you have given express consent (see Consent below).
- To operate, secure, and improve the website.
Consent (CASL)
We send marketing emails only if you give express consent, for example by checking the optional marketing box on our contact or resources forms. Every marketing message identifies Prototype Technology Ltd. and includes a working unsubscribe mechanism. You can withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing or emailing info@prototypedevshop.com.
We may contact businesses by email for relevant B2B outreach where permitted under CASL and applicable privacy law. Such messages identify us and include an unsubscribe option.
Service providers and cross-border processing
We use service providers to host the site, deliver forms, measure aggregate traffic, and support scheduling and email when those features are in use. Providers may store or process data in Canada, the United States, or other countries, which means your information may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions. We share only what is needed for the purpose described and expect appropriate safeguards.
Providers we use or may use include:
- Netlify — website hosting and delivery of contact-form submissions submitted on this site.
- Plausible Analytics — privacy-friendly, cookieless, aggregate analytics (in use on this site).
- Cal.com — we may use this service when you book a call through our scheduling embed; it receives the booking details you provide.
- Apollo.io — we may use this service to store contact details when you download a resource from /resources/ and request follow-up.
- Resend — we may use this service to send transactional email related to resource downloads or other site-initiated messages when email delivery is configured.
If a provider is not configured for a given feature, we do not share your information with that provider for that feature.
Analytics and cookies
We use Plausible Analytics, which is cookieless and does not collect personal information or track you across sites. It reports only aggregate, non-identifying usage data. We do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. The only local storage we use is a functional preference that remembers your light/dark theme choice.
Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, and then delete or anonymize it.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, withdraw your consent, or request deletion. To exercise any of these rights, email info@prototypedevshop.com. If you are a Quebec resident, Law 25 may give you additional rights, including the right to data portability; we will honour these where they apply.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date reflects the latest version.
